Adjuncts - Scientific and Technological Literacy Program
The Scientific and Technological Literacy (STL) Department of Iona College invites applications for adjunct positions to start in Summer 2014. STL is the Iona College core curriculum for non-science majors. The main goal of the STL curriculum is to give students a strong foundation in science that will allow them to understand scientific issues and controversies that they will encounter in daily life. Students learn about the nature and process of science by examining unifying concepts and integrating knowledge from all the natural sciences. Thus, we seek broadly trained scientists with knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree and have teaching experience. The adjunct teacher's responsibilities include teaching the 100-level course that includes both a lecture and laboratory section. The laboratory is set up by a college laboratory technician. Review of all applicants will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
