Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management

Job Summary:
The Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management is responsible for leading a team in reaching College enrollment goals. Under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment Management, and as a senior member of the Enrollment Management team, the Assistant Vice President designs the recruitment strategies and oversees the application and selection processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of the latest admissions and recruitment strategies.
  • Considerable knowledge of current technology and software in student recruitment and admissions.
  • Minimum of ten years of higher education admission experience with financial aid experience preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years working in a management capacity.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office software and knowledge of PeopleSoft applications preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and execution of effective recruitment and admissions strategies from initial inquiry to matriculation for all student demographics (undergraduate, transfer, international, graduate) to fulfill the college’s enrollment objectives. Coordinate activities with the Director, Communications and Event Planning as needed.
  • Under the direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Associate Vice President, assist with strategic financial aid awarding, and the development and maintenance of the College’s financial aid budget, including support for new freshman, transfers, continuing students, and graduate students.
  • Analyze inquiry, application and deposit trends to identify potential opportunities for advancement or efficiency; monitor admissions activities and processes through analysis from key performance indicators.        
  • Lead and direct implementation of new student recruitment technologies based upon knowledge of current recruitment practices and challenges, including the creation of a territory management model using national and regional demographic data combined with internal historical data.
  • Provide leadership for continued development of a strong campus visit and event experience.
  • Promote participation of Iona alum and parents of current students in our recruitment efforts and help to build upon Iona’s strong reputation as an institution creating lifelong learners and expand our national recruitment outreach efforts. Take responsibility for Iona’s PAIR (Parents & Alumni of Iona Recruitment) Team program.
  • Oversee the admissions and transfer evaluation support staff; oversee the admissions and transfer evaluation process including the evaluation, selection and matriculation of students.
  • Oversee development and monitoring of statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement institutional admissions/enrollment plans and activities, in concert with various campus units.
  • Supervise, train and mentor the admissions staff. Provide for professional development.
  • Serve on College committees and task teams.
