Part-Time Help Desk Specialist (2 Positions)
These are two part-time positions; regularly scheduled hours during the Fall and Spring terms are Wednesday, 6 p.m. – Midnight or Sunday, 5:30 p.m. – Midnight.
The primary responsibility of the position is the supervision of either the Ryan or Arrigoni Library Technology Help Desks during the weekend and evening.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitates organization, management and circulation of the libraries’ collection.
Apply principles of good patron service to all interactions with users and visitors.
Maintains an environment, which facilitates research and study through monitoring and intervention.
Reset passwords, troubleshoot Help Desk queries when possible, generate activity tickets for all IT-related interactions using Help Desk software package.
Monitor communications from supervisors, co-workers and campus departments.
Utilize resources to maintain awareness of library and campus events.
Supervise student workers.
Submit Daily Activity report to supervisor.
Responsible for opening and/or closing procedures for the libraries; monitor and report facility and security issues.
Compile user and usage statistics through hourly rounds.
Monitors copier system.
Performs other job duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor, manager and/or department head. Schedule subject to change to accommodate the academic calendar and staffing needs, schedule may include evenings and/or weekends.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required, some college preferred.
Supervisory, Library and public service experience preferred.
Good oral and written communication, problem solving, computer skills required, strong computer skills preferred. Ability to handle, move and carry library materials.
