Strength and Conditioning Internship

Iona College, a comprehensive private college located in New Rochelle, New York, seeks candidates for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern.  Dedicated to the personal teaching in the tradition of the Christian Brothers and American Catholic higher education, Iona College fields 21 NCAA Division I programs, primarily competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. 
 
Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • This position will assist with the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 21 Division I intercollegiate teams.
  • Applicant is responsible for program design and application for various teams as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
  • Position will work directly with head coaches of assigned teams to best prepare student athletes for competition. 
  • Facility management, equipment maintenance, and computer work will be assigned on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in the supervision and professional development of students and interns.
  • Maintain student athlete records and monitor progress of training programs.
 
Qualifications:
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and passion for the field of strength and conditioning. 
  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Applicant should be certified with the CSCCA or NSCA.  Prior coaching experience in collegiate weight room strongly encouraged. 
  • Additional requirements include a positive attitude, strong communication skills and basic Microsoft Office skills.
