New Rochelle, NY (July 16, 2014) Iona College will host twenty high school students from Colegio Lincoln, a private high school in La Plata, Argentina, for an educational-cultural camp focusing on four disciplines of the mass communication field – broadcasting, journalism, advertising and public relations – from Tuesday, July 15 to Wednesday, July 30.
Coordinating this first-time intensive experience for international high school students will be the Office of Conference Services, the Department of Mass Communication, and the Office of English as a Second Language.
While experiencing these selected mass media professions, the Colegio Lincoln students will engage in classes taught by Iona faculty, such as shooting, editing and producing video projects; creating advertising and public relations campaigns; and reporting on local sports and news events.
Besides their classroom projects and field work, the students will be visiting various cultural, historical and entertainment sites in the metropolitan area, including a Broadway musical, the New York Times
printing plant, the Museum of the Moving Image, the Circle Line tour, and a Rockland Boulders baseball game.
