The Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center provides students and faculty with a broad range of services that support teaching and learning so that students can become independent self-learners.
In a paragraph on retention, RJE Consulting stated about Iona College:
"It would be impossible to overestimate the contribution of the [Samuel] Rudin Center. Its record of student use, peer involvement and academic success stories clearly demonstrates how well it reinforces the classroom experience. It is in fact a classic retention tool - offering personal attention, concern, and affirmation to students..."
Among the commendations of the evaluation team representing the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Associations of Colleges and Schools was the following:
"The team observed that Iona College is aware of the need for increasingly sophisticated levels of support for a wide range of student abilities, and Iona has made some important steps ([Samuel] Rudin Center, skills development. etc.) to address these issues.... The services available through the [Samuel] Rudin Center are invaluable in enabling Iona to deliver educational seervices effectively to new populations of students."
