Business Analytics Institute
Data analytics encompasses a variety of underlying elements, including big-data gathering and cleaning, well-designed data storage and access processes, data exploration and visualization, and formal modeling. In addition to providing service to businesses, the institute’s goal is to help Iona College students excel through a combination of critical academic education and hands-on internship and experiential learning opportunities.
Established in February 2014, the analytics institute will concentrate on areas such as data security analytics, risk management analytics, financial analytics, and e-business analytics. As the institute grows, associated faculty will be drawn from across the Iona campus in fields such as information systems, marketing, finance, economics, mathematics and computer science. Iona’s Center for Financial Market Studies, led by Matt Carey is also part of the Business Analytics Institute.
The first new major program initiative of the institute is the Center for Health Care Analytics. The Center for Health Care Analytics has close linkages to the Health Care Management MBA concentration program.
