Advanced Certificate in Business Fundamentals

The goal of the certificate program is to introduce international and liberal arts students to the business environment and the functional areas of business.  The curriculum encompasses a comprehensive set of business courses in leadership, marketing, finance, accounting, management, and information systems.  The courses provide the student with knowledge and skills needed to seek and obtain entry level positions in a multitude of corporate and business settings.  The core of the program will develop students’ skills and experience in team building.


Curriculum- Six Courses

  • MBA 500 Business Perspectives
  • MBA 520 Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • MBA 550 Finance for Managers
  • MBA 560 Marketing Management
  • MBA 570 Management and Organizational Behavior
  • MBA 580  Information Systems


Admissions Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • International students must also submit TOEFL score of 80/550

Admission as a student into the certificate program does not guarantee full admission into the MBA program.  Participants are subject to the requirements for good academic standing that are applied to all students in the graduate program.
