Summer Program in Athens, Greece

Summer Session 2: End of May - End of June

Iona College offers students a five-week study abroad program in Greece. Live and study in the historic city of Athens and enjoy a cruise to nearby islands. Students must register for two of the following courses:

  • BEC 325 GR - Dimensions of International Business
  • BEC 455 GR - Issues in the European Union and How They Affect the USA
  • HST 491 GR - History and Culture of Greece
  • RST 422 GR - In the Footsteps of Paul
  • GRK 103 GR - Elementary Greek
Courses can be taken for core, elective, or major credit.

Students receive a total of 6 credits while studying and touring in the beautiful city of Athens. Classes are taught Monday through Thursday allowing students the opportunity to travel independently on sthe weekends.

Some courses are taught by Iona faculty members who travel to Greece with the students and by other faculty based in Athens. Students reside in attractive facilities in Greece and participate in excursions to museums, monuments, and other noteworthy sites.

In order to participate in the Greece program students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 by the end of the fall semester. Students on disciplinary probation at the time of departure will not be permitted to participate in this program.
