Procedures & Information


  1. Complete the online Faculty Development and Travel application and submit it at least 30 days prior to your departure.  In order to take advantage of early registration opportunities, the committee must have your application at least 10 business days prior to the early registration deadline to allow appropriate review time.
  2. Once the online form is completed and submitted, the application will automatically be sent to Greg Selitto at  You will also receive an email of the application form for you records.  If the application is complete and there are no concerns or issues, you will receive a decision from the committee on your award within 10 business days.
  3. To receive reimbursement for other approved expenses (e.g. cab fare, per diem allowances) bring (or send) receipts and a completed Faculty Travel Expense form to Cristine Cordi, in the Dean's Office. All reimbursement requests must be made within 60 days of the conference end date.  For travel in May or June, all requests must be submitted by June 15.  There is $35 per diem allowance for food. DO NOT SUBMIT receipts for food. Once everything is complete, the College will reimburse you by check sent to your home address in US mail.
  4. Travel by personal automobiles will be reimbursed.  Please check with Cristine Cordi in the Dean’s Office for the current mileage reimbursement rate.
  5. A maximum of $1500 will be permitted for the 2015 – 16 fiscal year (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016).
  6. A faculty member may apply for only one (1) faculty travel award in any fiscal year. Unused funds will not be available for any additional conferences.
  7. Priority will be given to new (tenure-track) faculty.
  8. The faculty member arranges and pays for all conference expenses.
  9. Reimbursement for conference expenses up to the award amount are only available after the faculty member has attended the conference.
  10. Reimbursement will only be made if original receipts are submitted within 45 days of the end date of the conference.

Application Deadlines

The FDT Committee accepts applications on a rolling basis. Submit your application as early as possible, but no later than 30 days prior to the conference start date (or at least 10 days prior to the early registration date). Late and/or last minute applications may receive significantly reduced award amounts or no award amount.
