  • Received research grant (September 2010 – November 2010), via the Fulbright Specialists Program, to work with the Turkish National Police (TNP) to study and evaluate that agency’s capacity to develop and deliver recruit, in-service, executive/leadership and “special” police training to personnel assigned throughout the country.
  • Retained (January 2009 – Present) by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) to perform professional consulting services to municipalities and police departments throughout the United States
  • Paper entitled, “Leveraging the Knowledge of Domestic Police Organizations to Combat International Terrorism,” at the 4th International Symposium on Terrorism and Transnational Crime (ITTS), sponsored by the Turkish National Police Academy’s International Center for Terrorism and Transnational Crime (UTSAM), Antalya, Turkey, December 7-9, 2012.
  • Paper entitled, “Born Leaders and Border Collies: Collaboration, Complexity and Change in Higher Education,” at the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Annual Conference on the State of Higher Education, Washington, DC,  June 15, 2012.
  • Invited to speak at the IBM Academy of Technology at the IBM world headquarters in Armonk, NY. (May, 2010) Presentation entitled “Collaborative Discourse and the Effective Use of Crime Data” and designed to assist IBM technologists in identifying key trends and developing insights into the Public Safety marketplace.
