Dr. Jirik-Babb is a clinical health psychologist whose research and publications focus on various aspects of eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and obesity) as well on rehabilitation and on the relationship between health psychology and public policy. She also has interests in the theory and practice of counseling and in research design and data analysis. Dr Jirik-Babb is active in the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) and served as President of its Academic Division in 2006 and was elected to serve again as President in 2013. Currently she is an Executive Board Member of this division and also a member of the Independent Practice Division. In 2010 she received NYSPA's Wilhelm Wundt Award for scholarly research. In addition, she is a member of the American Psychological Association including Division 38 (Health Psychology), the Westchester Psychological Association (Clinical and Academic Divisions) and the New York Academy of Sciences (Psychology Division).
