Dr. William Egelman is Professor Emeritus of the Sociology. He taught in the department for 42 years. His teaching focused on Race and Ethnic Relations, Sociology of the Family, Urban Society and Population. He is the author of 10 books, and numerous articles in the field of Sociology. His most recent publications are:

Dr. Salamone is a cultural anthropologist with interest in ethnicity, African and Afro-American culture, religion, fieldwork techniques, and ethics. He belongs to a number of professional organizations including the American Anthropological Association, the African Studies Association, the Popular Culture Association, and the American Ethnological Association. He has held administrative positions in these and other professional organizations. He has written a number of books and articles including The Italians of Rochester, NY: 1900-140", "The Italians of Rochester, NY: 1940-1960", "The Hausa of Nigeria", and "The Culture of Jazz: Jazz as Critical Culture."
