You are able to transfer to Iona any time you feel ready to make the right next step into your future! No matter how many credits you have previously earned, Iona College is happy to accept your transfer application.
Transfer applications are processed on a rolling basis, so there are no formal deadlines. It is, however, strongly recommended that students apply as soon as possible in order to receive a timely admissions decision, credit evaluation and financial aid package-the sooner the better!
As transfer admissions are on a rolling basis, so are our decisions. As soon as your file is complete, we can make a decision and respond to you quickly. Feel free to check your status with Brother Jason Ford, CFC at firstname.lastname@example.org
Generally speaking, courses that are equivalent to courses offered at Iona with a grade of "C" or better are considered transferable. A maximum of 64 credits may be accepted upon transfer from all combined accredited two-year institutions and training programs. A maximum of 90 credits in total may be accepted in transfer from all combined accredited two- and four-year institutions and training programs. In all instances and in order to receive an official and final credit evaluation, admitted students will meet with their respective Dean's Office for the most beneficial use of credit.
All transferring students with an earned Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from an accredited institution who have also earned a cumulative GPA of 2.5 will have satisfied the Liberal Arts Core. (Specific major requirements are accepted and all students must fill the Philosophy and Religious Studies components of the Core.)
Cost: Costs for the current academic year can be found under Student Financial Services.
Scholarships and financial aid are available for transfer students. Transfer Scholarships range from $6,500 to $12,000 per academic year and are based on prior academic performance. Athletic scholarships are at the discretion of the coach. All other financial aid will be based on the FAFSA form (every student must file the FAFSA in order to receive any aid, including academic and athletic scholarships). Follow this link for more financial aid information and forms.
For International Students:
I-20 and Visa Information - International student must also complete Iona College's Application for Form I-20. This will supply us with the information we need to determine if we can issue the Form I-20 in the U.S.C.I.S. SEVIS information system. The Application for Form I-20 provides us with biographical information about you and with information about how you will finance your education.
Once you receive an I-20 from Iona, you must pay the SEVIS fee of $200 and then you schedule an appointment to meet with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply for a visa.
International transfers can qualify for academic and athletic scholarships, but are not eligible for additional federal or state aid.
