Delta Upsilon Fraternity
Delta Upsilon was established at Iona College in 1989 based on the four founding principles of the international fraternity; the promotion of friendship, the development of character, the diffusion of liberal culture, and the advancement of justice. These four founding principles reflect the high aspirations of our brotherhood and serve as a continuing challenge and inspiration toward greater excellence. The main goal of the fraternity is to develop a well- rounded gentleman and create a strong sense of brotherhood.

The Iona College chapter of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity takes pride in not only its founding principles, but also the events that are held by the fraternity in order to uphold these principles. The following are some of the events that Delta Upsilon has presented in the past and some that will occur during the upcoming semester.
The Annual Miss Gael Pageant:
In the Spring semester, Delta Upsilon hosts an annual Miss Gael Pageant. Similar to Miss America, the beautiful women of Iona College try to win the hearts of the crowd and judges as they display their beauty, talent, and personality on stage. Only one contestant can be crowned Miss Gael, find out who this year’s winner is!
Around Valentine’s Day, Delta Upsilon teams up with the ladies of Phi Gamma Chi sorority and host Crush Night. This event allows students to revisit their middle school days, possibly earning a dance with that special crush!
Delta Upsilon has been entertaining the Iona College community for over 15 years through the events that the organization has hosted which range in scope and variety. Events that may be seen throughout the 2013-2014 school year include: professor debates, walks for suicide awareness, movie nights and many more!
