Founded in 1998, an entertainment group that prepares dance routines for performances at Iona’s sporting and social events. The Gael Dancers consists of 20 talented dancers with various dance backgrounds. The team performs at all men and women home basketball games as well as other events on campus including Maroon Madness, Homecoming, and Pep Rally. Dance members travel with the basketball teams to the MAAC Tournament at the end of the season in March. The team practices three times a week perfecting dance routines with their coach and captains. The dance routines can be described as jazz funk, a style of jazz technique, and hip-hop combined. The members also dedicate time participating in service projects supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention.
