The Gaels Activities Board (GAB) serves as the central programming organization at Iona College. GAB seeks to provide educational, social, cultural, recreation, and social campus wide programs, keeping in mind the varied interests represented in our diverse student population. Megan Nicolaro, Chair
Megan Nicolaro is very excited to be taking on the role of 2014-2015 Chair of the Gaels Activities Board! Megan is a Junior at Iona College studying Speech-Language Pathology and has served on the Gaels Activities Board as the Recreation Programming Chair for the 2013-2014 academic year. She is also a member of the Edmund Rice Society, the Speech and Hearing Club, and will be an Undergraduate Programming Assistant and a Mission Trip Leader in the upcoming academic year. Originally from New Jersey, Megan loves living in New Rochelle and spending quality time with her fellow Gaels! She is enthusiastic and passionate about Iona's mission and looks forward to providing students a fun year!
Kaitlyn Jockers, Vice Chair
Kaitlyn Jockers is a Junior at Iona and is looking forward to another awesome year on campus. She will be working alongside Megan as the 2014-2015 GAB Vice Chair. In addition to that role, Kate is both an active member and an Orientation Leader for the Edmund Rice Society, a member of the Psychology Club, and a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society. You may find her around campus while working as a Shift Supervisor for the Residential Life Staff. Kate loves hearing from her fellow students and cannot wait to exceed their expectations for this school year!
Jasmyn Plasencia, Business Manager
Jasmyn is proud to sit on the 2014-2015 E-Board with such a magnificent team. She is looking forward to sitting as the Business Manager, with all of it's new capacities. She loves being involved; Jasmyn previously sat on the Student Government Association and couldn’t pass up an opportunity to sit on GAB! On a regular weekday, she's always busy and running around. If it's not grabbing lunch at Spellman, or being in class, it's working in the office of Student Development, or babysitting a family of proud baby gaels. Jasmyn has began the search for the perfect major, in the Hagan school of business where she is testing the waters with Management; a path that could lead her to becoming an event coordinator some day. Until then, she's thrilled to begin her journey through GAB and is looking forward to her upperclassmen years as a gael!
Kelvin Najarro, Publicity Coordinator: Social Media
Kelvin Najarro is a sophomore at Iona College and is so thrilled to serve as one of the Publicity Coordinator's of the 2014-2015 Gaels Activities Board! He's majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and minoring in Spanish. He is also a member of the Edmund Rice Society, the Iona Players, and the Gay Straight Alliance and will be a Resident Assistant in the upcoming academic year. He is looking forward to a productive positive year, in making his fellow gaels excited and eager to be a part of the activities to come!
Adrian Trivino, Publicity Coordinator: Graphics
Adrian Trivino is a sophomore at Iona College and is eager to be serving as the Publicity Coordinator in charge of Graphics for the 2014-2015 GAB executive Board! As a freshman, Adrian enjoyed assisting his Resident Assistant by creating flyers for floor events, and is excited to showcase his abilities to the rest of the student body!
Christopher Kash, Recreation Programming Chair
Christopher Kash is enthusiastic to serve as the Recreation Program Chair of the Gaels Activities Board for the 2014-2015 school year. Christopher is a Sophomore at Iona College majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Security Threat Assessment. Christopher served as the Noon Time Activity Chair on the Gaels Activities.
Samantha Greenidge, Live Performance Chair
Samantha Greenidge is thrilled to be a part of the 2014-2015 Gaels Activities Board as the Live Performance Chair. Samantha is in her second year at Iona College majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Physics, with the intent of becoming an Educator in the future. She will be a part of the Red Cross Club, the Edmund Rice Society, and the Student Government Association as a Sophomore Senator in the 2014-2015 year. Samantha is eager to plan and provide the student body with a fun and enjoyable year.
Jean-Carlos Polonia, Diversity Chair
J.C is ecstatic to be joining the executive board of the Gaels Activities Board as the Diversity Chair! He is passionate about the duties of this position and is looking forward to cultivating Iona’s already diverse student body. Originally from the Bronx, J.C has gained a popular reputation around campus for his many beat boxing performances and continues to become more involved as a sophomore at Iona!
Marcus Evans, Travel and Tours Chair
Marcus can’t wait to become more involved here at Iona College as the Travel & Tours Chair! Marcus is a fun, family oriented sophomore from Brooklyn, NY. He looks forward to providing Iona with many fun experiences this year!
