Instructions for Filling Out the IC-ESL Application
Please answer each section (I, II, III, & IV) on the IC-ESL Application. Incomplete applications will delay your enrollment process. When filling out the application, please type or write in black ink. You do not need to pay an application fee for the IC-ESL program.
Please make sure you completely fill out the Statement of Financial Ability. The purpose of this statement is to verify that you or a sponsor (parent, relative, other) have sufficient financial resources to cover all of your expenses (tuition, housing, meals, insurance, etc.) while you are in the United States and studying in the IC-ESL Program.
Please provide, or ask your sponsor to provide, an official bank statement or a government official document (affidavit) as evidence of financial support. The statement or document must show sufficient financial funds in the amount of 12 months of study (approximately $US 42,420.00). The original statement or document must be sent. A copy of the statement/document will not be accepted.
Please fill out the application for Form I-20.
Please send all of the completed documents (IC-ESL Application, Statement of Financial Ability, the Bank Statement/Government Document, and Form I-20) along with a copy of your passport to the following address:
Iona College – ESL Program
Attn: Dr. Martin, Director of the IC-ESL

When do I receive my F-1 visa?
After receiving and reviewing all of your IC-ESL Program application materials and have found that you meet all of the requirements to be admitted, we will send you a SEVIS I-20 form along with your IC-ESL Program acceptance letter. You will then use the I-20 document to schedule your interview at your nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. If you have any questions about the visa interview, please contact your local U.S. Embassy of Consulate for instructions on how to schedule your interview.
