You must be on campus to successfully follow these instructions

Connect to Wireless

  1. Click on the Wireless icon located on the bottom right of the Taskbar. wireless
  2. Connect to IonaCollegeStudentWireless
  3. Check Connect Automatically and Click Connect.
  4. Open the Web Browser. If the Web Browser doesn’t automatically redirect you to the Iona login page attempt to go to any webpage to be redirected there.
  5. Enter your Iona College Computer ID and Password (eg. jsmith1) Check the Accept Terms Box and Click Login
  6. If you’ve forgotten your password please visit http://netpass.iona.edu on any computer with internet access.

Install ClearPass OnGuard

  1. On the OnGuard Page there will be a link to download ClearPass OnGuard, Click it to start the download.
  2. If given the option choose to Save the file and go to your download folder after it’s complete.
  3. Double click ClearPassOnGuardInstall.exe to begin the installation.
  4. Click Yes > OK > Next > Check the Accept Terms box and click Install > Finish
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Double click the ClearPass Icon located at the bottom right of your desktop to open it. If ClearPass is red click the Remediation URL link within it. If ClearPass is Green your machine has internet access.
If you’re running AVG, Kaspersky, Norton, Mcafee or Microsoft Security Essentials with the latest Virus Definitions ClearPass will grant you access to the internet. If you don’t have any of these you can download Microsoft Security Essentials for free using the instructions below.

ClearPass OnGuard Status

Clearpass Status
  • Healthy Status: Your Computer meets the requirements to access Iona’s Wireless
  • Quarantined: Your Computer can’t connect to Iona’s Wireless until you fix the Error listed.
    This happens when your computer has no Anti-Virus, the Anti-Virus is turned off or the Anti-Virus definitions are older than 14 days. You can fix this by visiting the Remediation URL link on ClearPass.

Install Microsoft Security Essentials (If you have NO Anti-Virus)

  1. On the Remediation website in the Navigational Menu under MS ESSENTIALS.
  2. Click the link to begin the download, afterwards run the file to begin the installation.
  3. Proceed through the installation of Security Essentials and once finished go to the next step.

Update Virus Definitions (If your Virus Definitions are out of date)

  1. On the Remediation website in the Navigational Menu under ANTI-VIRUS UPDATES.
  2. Click the link to the corresponding Anti-Virus product to download the Virus Definitions.
  3. Refer to the Remediation page on how to use the Virus Definition package you’ve downloaded.
  4. Your Virus definitions are now up to date

Map Your Student Network Drive (The U: Drive)

  1. Go to wireless.iona.edu
  2. In the Navigational Menu under STUDENT U:DRIVE choose and click the U Drive to download.
  3. Go to your download folder and double click the U Drive file UDrive to open it
  4. Enter your Iona College Computer ID and Password in the required fields Student Drive Login
  5. You will receive a message that your U: Drive was successfully mapped.
  6. You can find your U Drive by clicking folder icon Folder on your windows Taskbar(bottom of the screen) and looking for your Iona Username (eg.aviola) under the Computer Icon on the left of the window
