Campaign Focus: Excellence in the Arts

Located 20 miles north of Midtown Manhattan and blessed with creative students, Iona enjoys strong community support for theater, music and dance productions staged on and around campus.
The addition of a performing arts center will enhance the overall Iona experience, complement existing facilities in the College’s arts center and also create new synergies with New York City’s world-class arts scene. As the first major campaign project dedicated to performing arts in the history of the College, the performing arts center will allow Iona to become a destination for the arts and to foster a legacy of creativity for future generations.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“The performing arts center will provide a premier arts destination for area residents and the College community. It will further support the mission of the College and the foundation for life-long learning through the performing arts -– and will also fully encourage and inspire aesthetic literacy in our students, enabling them to grow spiritually and creatively.”
Thomas Donnarumma, Associate Professor, Department of Fine and Performing Arts Chair
“Being a part of the performing arts at Iona has added so much to my college experience. I’m excited to see the new opportunities that a true performing arts facility will allow for future Iona students!”
Kimberleigh Costanzo ’14, Philosophy Major, Performing Arts Minor
"Arts play a critical role in the development of mind and sprit for fostering and enhancing liberal arts education at Iona for our students, faculty, staff and the community. This new center for performing arts will be fundamental for creative expression necessary to move the world."
