Ways to Give
At Iona College, our goal is to prepare current and future students for leadership in a fast-paced, ever-changing world. As a benefactor of Iona, you will have the satisfaction of knowing your gift is having a profound impact on our students’ lives.
Iona College values every gift. There are several ways that individuals, corporations and foundations can provide financial support through one-time gifts, matching gifts and pledged gifts (payable over a specific time period).
Of the many ways to give to Iona, most donors choose cash and cash equivalents, whether as annual gifts, a one-time gift, or a gift pledged over a period of years. Cash gifts are the easiest and most direct way to donate to Iona and also entitle you to the most generous federal charitable income tax benefits.
Cash gifts can be made by check, credit card, or online.
to make your gift online.
Your check should be made payable to Iona College and, to ensure that it is properly credited, should be accompanied by a letter outlining the purpose of the gift (please include your grad year when applicable).
Mail your check to: Iona College, Joyce Advancement House, 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
The Power of Pledges
Did you know that by committing to making a series of donations, even over a period of several years, you can be recognized as if you had given the combined total all at once? A pledge to donate $1,000 annually for five years, for example, will be recognized as a gift of $5,000. Such a commitment can allow you to make a stretch gift you might not have otherwise considered. So if you’ve made or thought about making multiple gifts over a given period of time, consider making a commitment to a regular annual donation that will be recognized at a higher level.
By combining yearly gifts into a multi-year pledge, donors have a greater impact and the future of Iona College.
If you work for a business that matches its employees’ charitable contributions, you can increase your support of Iona College through a matching gift. Some businesses also match gifts made by retirees and family members. Simply obtain the matching gift form from your business and submit it to the Iona Advancement Office for processing. Stocks and Securities
Appreciated stocks and securities are good assets to use when making a charitable gift in that they provide tax benefits that are not available from cash gifts. You will be entitled to a charitable tax deduction for the average of the high and low stock prices on the date of the gift, regardless of the amount that you paid for the stock. In addition, you will not pay capital gains tax on the stock that you would have been required to pay if you liquidated the stock.
