Iona University students receive one complimentary ticket to the student section for each regular season home men’s and women’s basketball game (subject to availability). Students must reserve their electronic ticket prior to the game on ICGaelsTickets.com using their Iona login credentials.

Iona employees receive two complimentary tickets to each regular season home game (subject to availability). Similar to students, Iona employees are asked to reserve their electronic tickets prior to the game on ICGaelsTickets.com using their Iona login credentials. When reserving, employees should select the “General Admission” seating section, and then follow the prompts to complete their reservation.

Iona employees may also receive reduced tickets to other campus events such as performing arts performances (subject to availability). Similar to students, employees are asked to follow the appropriate procedures for reserving tickets in advance for the event by contacting the sponsoring department.

Valid Iona identification may be required for entry to certain games or events. Any questions related to ticketing for athletic events can be emailed to tickets@iona.edu.


BEVERAGE AND MEAL PLAN

The Meal Plan is maintained by the Office of Business Services, located in room 211 of McSpedon Hall.  Full-time employees may add funds to their ID cards via payroll deduction or one-time payments, and these funds can be used to purchase food on campus in the LaPenta Marketplace (LaPenta Student Union), Vitanza Commons (Spellman Hall), or Avenue C (LaPenta School of Business). All employees are also eligible to take advantage of the University’s beverage plan.  Employees are entitled to two, medium-sized beverages (coffee, tea or cold fountain drink) daily in Vitanza Commons. To ensure your beverage plan is activated, please call (914) 633-2122 or email cdellicarpini@iona.edu. No money is required to sign up.


Iona Campus Store

The Iona Campus Store is located on the ground floor of the LaPenta Student Union. With their ID card, staff and faculty receive 20% discount on all merchandise except adopted textbooks, special orders, sale books, computer software and hardware, periodicals, discounted merchandise, and snacks.

Family Allowance

The University grants a one-time $450 cash allowance for a newborn child (or adoption) of a regular full-time employee. In order to receive payment, the employee must provide adoption documentation or a birth certificate or hospital discharge paperwork to the Human Resources Department.


Maternity Leave

New York State Worker's Compensation Laws, disability section, treats pregnancy as a medical illness, eligible for short term disability up to 12 weeks. Time out for disability and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) run concurrently. A three-month maternity leave is the maximum permitted under the Federal Act.

Employee's are eligible to receive payment beginning on the eighth consecutive day of disability. An employee may use any earned sick time. If an employee does not have earned sick time, the insurance carrier will pay up to one-half (1/2) of the weekly salary to a maximum of $170 per week.

New York State Law requires the pregnant employee and treating physician to complete NYS Form DB-450. Failure to return this DB-450 Form will result in non-payment.


Unemployment Benefits

If you become unemployed due to no fault of your own and no other job is available, you may be entitled to twenty-six (26) weeks of New York State Unemployment benefit.


Worker's Compensation Benefits

All Iona University employees are covered by New York State Worker's Compensation Law for injury or illness from the job. You may be eligible for payment of lost wages and medical bills under the law. Employees are responsible for immediately reporting an injury or illness to their department head.
