In November 2003 the Iona Community dedicated its Week of the Peacemaker to the theme, “AIDS: who will break the silence?”

Through this “Iona AIDS Quilt,” the community continues to break the silence about the disastrous effects of this disease and the need to ease the suffering of so many millions throughout the globe.

The “Iona AIDS Quilt” memorializes all who have died of AIDS, many unknown to this community as well loved ones and friends of Iona students, faculty, administrators. Though gone, they will never be forgotten.
