Message from the Provost

As Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs it is my pleasure to welcome you to Iona College. I have the privilege of experiencing Iona as an alumnus, a faculty member, and previous Dean of the School of Arts and Science.  This unique perspective has afforded me the opportunity to know first-hand and believe in, both personally and professionally, the great value of an Iona education. Through the dedication and commitment to the mission of the College from our students, faculty, staff, trustees, and alumni, Iona is a special place to learn and grow.

Iona is an institution that meets challenges with fortitude and integrity that is embedded in our tradition and mission. It is this spirited determination that is palpable in all areas of the College from academics to athletics, to student activities, to campus ministries, and so on. All one has to do is spend one day on campus and you recognize that the proof of Iona College truly rests in its people.

Iona offers an innovative curriculum that encourages students and faculty to work closely and collaboratively toward shared learning goals. This inspiring learning culture fosters development of an active human conscious and awareness, as well as deep skills you can use to meet life challenges or career goals.

In practical terms, Iona’s campus is beautiful and in a suburban setting, yet with close proximity to the cultural, economic, and entertainment assets of the world-class city that is New York. Simply put, at Iona, you can have the best of both worlds.
