Today there are 310 dual-boot Apple iMacs available for student use. Only a handful of colleges nationwide a have deployed this type of Mac, which can run both Apple and Windows operating systems. There are 37 computing facilities and three libraries housing more than 607 student computers. In addition, there are 70 smart classrooms. Distance learning courses are offered through Blackboard and Wimba. Online registration and bill payment is available.

Recent campaigns at Iona include a $2 million Library Challenge to upgrade and modernize older parts of Ryan Library to complement the Visions of Excellence (VOE) $14.7 million campaign to expand and renovate the Library. The funds raised for VOE provided cutting edge technology and enhanced classrooms and meeting space for the library. Iona also received three prestigious grants from The Booth Ferris Foundation, The Kresge Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, respectively, to help meet its VOE fundraising goal.
Prior to VOE, the ground-breaking Vision into Reality campaign raised $82.6 million in funds for new scholarships and buildings. A few projects made possible by this campaign include the Robert V. LaPenta '67, '00H Student Union, the Hynes Athletics Center and an endowment for more than 23 scholarship funds.
Iona proudly sponsors 21 NCAA Division I teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). A total of 126 Iona student-athletes were named to the 2008-2009 MAAC Academic Honor Roll.
The Iona College men's cross country program continued its "Tradition of Excellence" with its 19th consecutive MAAC Championship in the fall of 2009, the second longest active streak in NCAA Division I. The program is one of two in the country to finish in the Top 10 at the national championship event in each of the last eight years including two national runner up finishes in 2007 and 2008. Also over the span the team has captured six Northeast Regional titles.
The women's cross country team collected its conference record fifth straight MAAC Championship in 2009. In 2006, the team finished 20th at NCAAs, earning its first-ever automatic bid with a second-place finish at the Northeast Regional Championship.
The women's basketball team continued its recent history of success with its third Women's NIT bid in the past four years in March 2010. After collecting a program record 21 wins in 2006-07 and the first postseason bid in school history, the Gaels advanced to the second round of the WNIT in both 2007 and 2008.
The men's basketball team has continued its return to prominence in the MAAC and the New York Metropolitan Area in 2009-10. After being predicted to finish ninth, Iona finished third in the league standings and its 21 wins were the most among schools within 30 miles of Madison Square Garden.
