Adjunct Professor (Dance)
Liliana Amador-Marty began her dance and theater training at The Inner City Ensemble in Paterson, NJ. She received her BA in Theater with a concentration in Dance from Bates College and her MFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota. Liliana taught creative movement, theater, and playmaking to children atthe Lab School inthe Bronx for five years. She is involved in the 52nd Street Project, a community-based playmaking program for the children of Hell’s Kitchen in NYC as dramaturge/director.
Currently, Professor Amador-Marty teaches Dance Oureach at Iona College, a dance education course that prepares student
teachers to design a creative movement program & teach their lessons to children in the community. She also belongs
to a league of choreographers in NJ called Bergen DanceMakers, a collective of choreographers committed to producing
highly developed work through feedback sessions & showings. Amador-Marty has worked in collaboration with Alison
Oakes-Charbonnier for the past seven years. Together they created Amador/Oakes Dance Collaborative. Their work has
appeared at the 92nd Street Y, Merce Cunningham Studio, Joyce Soho, WAX, Riverside Church and Iona College.
