Honolulu born, Sheila Kriemelman is a noted New York artist and teacher. She has a Bachelors in Art Education from the University of Missouri and an Masters in Studio Art from the College of New Rochelle. She has studied at the Glassel School of Fine Art, The Women’s Institute and the University of Texas in Houston, Southhampton College in New York and with internationally acclaimed artists including Eric Fischl, April Gornik, Roy Lichtenstein and Larry Rivers.
Kriemelman is a professor of art and art history at Iona College, Mercy College and the College of New Rochelle in New York. She is a popular teacher and guest lecturer on western art, women and art, the New York Art Scene, and her own projects.
Kriemelman has a studio in SoHo, New York, where she lives with her husband.. She exhibits extensively in New York and in the Hawaiian Islands. She has received awards in numerous national juried competitions and her paintings are in prestigious public, private and corporate collections in the United States, England and Australia, including the Klutznik National Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Honolulu Academy of Art.
Her professional memberships include the National Association of Women Artists, the New York Society of Women Artists,
New York Artists Equity and the College Art Association. She is listed in Who’s Who In American Art and Outstanding
People of the 20th Century in honor of her outstanding contribution to human rights through art and education.
