Maria Armiento-DeMaria is the Clinic Director for the Iona College Speech and Language Hearing Clinic and an alumnus of the department.

Fourteen years of clinical experience include medical and school settings serving populations from across the age span. Clinical interests include the supervisory process, swallowing disorders, oral motor function, cognition, child language and child speech disorders.

Current clinical practice includes a Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist in acute, long, and short term care medical settings; LSVT LOUD Certified Clinician; PROMPT Trained; Consultant for Ahmed Orthodonctics PC and Mount Sinai Medical Center Department of Dentistry.

Current Research and Interests:
Current research projects include the "Perception of the ASHA Code of Ethics" with Lauren Zanfordino and Dr. Ferrero-Paluzzi.

Additional Activities:
Continuing Education Administrator as an ASHA Approved CE Provider for Iona College Speech Communication Studies Department as well as a committee member for ASHA's Academic Affairs Board.
