13 Iona College undergraduate students and two high school students are continuing research funded by the National Science Foundation. Chemistry chair, Dr. Sunghee Lee and her research team are investigating the chemistry of crystallization in living systems.
Sunghee Lee, PhD, Chemistry, published a paper entitled, "Sensitivity of cationic surfactant templates to specific anions in liquid interface crystallization," with four coauthors, Paul Sanstead '11, Chemistry, Nick Florio '11, Chemistry, Kiersten Giusto '12 Biochemistry, and Catherine Morris '12 Biochemistry (Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2012).
