Educational Technology Certificate

Certificate in Educational Technology
This certificate has been designed for those who wish to further their expertise in educational computing or earn a credential in this growing field.


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

This certificate consists of five courses (15 credits) which include:

Core: All students must complete the following four courses: (12 credits)

EDT 501 Introduction to Educational Technology (3 credits)
EDT 530 Introduction to Programming and Education (3 credits)
EDT 660 Educational Multimedia Design (3 credits)
Plus one of the following:
EDT 540 Introduction to Programming for Education (3 credits)
EDTT> 542> Integrating Technology into the Social Studies Curriculum (3 credits)
EDT 544 Integrating Technology into the Mathematics, Science and Technology Curriculum (3 credits)

Elective (3 credits):
 
One additional EDT course chosen in consultation with advisor (3 credits)

Total 15 credits

ADMISSIONS

Students requesting admission into the program must submit:

  1. Completed application.
  2. Evidence of completion of a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative 2.5 grade point average (GPA).
  3. Payment of the application fee.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
  1. Completion of the required 15 credits, including the appropriate distribution of credits.
  2. A minimum 3.0 GPA
