Personal Statement

At UBS, I implement real time systems used by traders on the trading floor, which are specifically designed to handle extreme data volumes with low latencies. I am heavily involved in the entire lifespan of the projects I work on, from meeting with the traders to gathering and understanding business requirements, to designing and implementing the workflows.

My education at Iona has 'made' my career. It has provided me with the fortitude to thrive in a tough working environment, as well as the skill set to be able to make critical but informative implementable decisions. I constantly apply knowledge gained during my undergraduate years. Most importantly, however, having a strong fundamental understanding of computer science topics has allowed me to adapt to an ever changing technology environment. I have decided to continue my education and have just started my Masters in Computer Science at Columbia University, which I will complete in 2011.
