Smiljana Petrovic has been a member of Iona's Computer Science department since 2008. She has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Database Organization and Design, Advanced Database Systems, Machine Learning and Software Engineering. She holds a Ph. D. degree in Computer Science from the Graduate Center of CUNY, New York. Her M.S. degree in Computer Science is from Lehman College and a B.S. degree in Mathematics is from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Her research interest is the development of machine learning techniques to solve constraint satisfaction problems by selecting and combining heuristics. She loves to travel and learn about different cultures.
