Computer Science majors are strongly encouraged to undertake an internship in an area related to computer science. These experiences enhance their academic accomplishments and provide an invaluable link between the classroom and the workplace. Internships afford students the opportunity to understand what is expected of them in a business environment and to gain a better appreciation of the various career paths that are available to them with a degree in computer science. Most internships in this field are paid. Internships that meet the requirements can be credit bearing through CS 498, CS Internship.
Since Iona College is located in the New York metropolitan area, our students have a wide variety of internship opportunities. Some of the companies where computer science majors have interned recently are:
A.C. Roman and Associates; Lynbrook, NY
Argus Information & Advisory LLC; White Plains, NY
IBM Corp.; Armonk, NY
Interactive Sports Direct; New York, NY
Pepsi Bottling Company; Somers, NY
