Personal Statement

IBM Global Financing (IGF) has grown to a worldwide organization composed of hundreds of sellers, accountants, analysts and business support, credit and pricing specialists. Today it has more than 125,000 clients in more than 50 countries, and finances more than US$36 billion in IT assets. IGF can help credit qualified clients develop a comprehensive investment strategy, allowing them to seize new opportunities and accelerate transformation solutions. IGF helps clients acquire the IT solutions that they need in the most cost-effective and strategic way possible. It also offers a variety of IT financing options to address unique solution requirements and help manage the cash flow and assets.

I am a Pricing Analyst for a multi-billion dollar application called International Customer Financing System (ICFS). ICFS manages the financing contracts and financed assets of IBM and enables customers of IBM machines to prepare financing proposals for all business transactions. I participate in the performance testing of new application pricing functions. This includes documenting the test cases and results so that they can be analyzed to see if they meet the performance criteria. I am also involved in the security/controls area where I review and update current "Documents of Understanding" that are in place with other Application Owners. In addition, I am in charge of the inventory control of the Laptop Loaner Program. Laptops are temporarily disbursed for emergency purposes to support team members. I distribute the machines and track their whereabouts to ensure that the machines are returned. My internship with IBM has been an insightful and valuable experience that has given me the exposure to the business world as well as the opportunity to apply my technical knowledge in computer science in a business environment.
