Founded to meet the needs of individuals and families in stress and to promote emotional growth.

Welcome to the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy.

The Department of Marriage and Family Therapy offers a comprehensive MS degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a post-master's certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. The Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy was granted Initial Accreditation by the Commission of Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education through July 31, 2015. Additionally the MFT program has been designated “Licensure Qualifying” by the New York State Education Department. With additional post-graduate supervised clinical experience and successful passage of the National Marriage and Family Therapy Examination graduates of the program can become New York State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. The Department of Marriage and Family Therapy contributes its services to the surrounding communities via The Marriage and Family Therapy Center. A non-profit center in operation for over thirty years, it is staffed by marriage and family therapists under the supervision of licensed marriage and family therapists who are also AAMFT approved supervisors. The center was founded to meet the needs of individuals and families in stress and to promote emotional growth.

The Journal of Pastoral Counseling is published annually by the Graduate Department of Marriage and Family Therapy at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. Each issue generally covers a theme within counseling, whether practical or theoretical in nature.
