Gravity Goldberg received her doctorate at Teachers College, Columbia University in Curriculum and Instruction with focuses on educational leadership, literacy, and special education. Gravity is co-author of the book, Conferring With Readers, published through Heinemann. She also worked as an instructor in the Inclusive Education program at Teachers College where she taught the literacy methods courses for five years. Gravity served as an elementary special education teacher and reading teacher in Boston, MA. As a staff developer for the past six years, she continues to work in schools and districts throughout the country to support literacy instruction, responsive teaching methods, assessment-driven instruction, and curriculum development. Gravity works as an educational consultant in the neighboring districts of Tuckahoe and Pelham. Her research interests include participatory approaches to teaching and learning, mindfulness practices in the classroom, critical approaches to literacy, inclusive education models, using technology to "publish" and share work, and adolescent literacy.
