Degree: Master of Arts

Master of Arts in Spanish EducationThe Master of Arts in Spanish is offered to students who already possess a bachelor’s degree in Spanish or have other appropriate preparation. This department also provides preparation toward certification in Adolescence Education with a specialization in Spanish.

Campus Location: New Rochelle

Latin American Culture and Civilization,
Pedagogy (Intermediate level learners)

Calendar:
Semester
Classes meet for two hours, one evening per week

Entry terms: Fall, spring, summer

Application deadline: Rolling

Average courseload per term: 2 courses (three credits each)

Credits to completion:

30 or 33 depending on culminating experience pathway

Average time to complete the degree: 2 years

Preferred academic preparation or background experience:
Major or minor in Spanish or by permission of the faculty (interview required).

  • Three professional letters of recommendation
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (admission with undergrad below 3.0 by permission of the faculty)
