Those who will benefit from the program are health care professionals who are already working in or aspire to management positions, and individuals from other disciplines who wish to enter one of the fastest growing professions in the U.S.

Specific Focus of program:
To provide an understanding of the health care sector from a range of disciplinary perspectives and to develop sensitivity to the needs of patients, the interests of providers, and the underlying values of our society.

  • Classes offered in a variety of formats: during the week, weekends, and via distance learning
  • Flexibility in electives enables students to develop their own interests
  • Cross-discipline option to substitute up to two relevant Iona graduate courses from other fields with the approval of the faculty

Two hours, one evening a week OR
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday mornings or afternoons) for six weekends in a term OR Distance-learning courses (Please note: Degree cannot be completed by taking Weekend courses only or via DL courses only)

Entry terms: Fall, spring

Average courseload per term: 2 courses (three credits each)

Average time to complete certificate: 1.5 to 2 years

Preferred academic preparation or background experience:
Bachelor’s degree

  • Application for admission
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • Two professional letters of recommendation
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 or at discretion of the director
  • Resume (if GPA is below 3.0)
