Dr. Petrausch teaches in the public relations sequence at the undergraduate and graduate level. His research interests include public relations, public speaking, organizational communications and organizational learning in both profit and non-profit organizations. His career in public relations began following a stint in the United States Air Force as an officer. Throughout his career, he held key public relations positions with Shell Oil, General Electric, Sperry Corporation and GTE. The culmination of his professional career was his appointment as the top communications executive for Uniroyal Chemical in Middlebury, Ct. Dr. Petrausch has a doctoral degree from Columbia University's Department of Organization and Leadership. He also holds advanced degrees from Boston University (MS in Science); Fordham University (MA in Political Science): New School for Social Research (MA in Liberal Studies). Dr. Petrausch has a broad background in media relations, speech writing, program planning, public relations management and training. He provides consulting advice to senior executives in Fortune 1000 companies. He is a member of the PRA, past president of the PRSA/Westchester-Chapter, and serves on the board of the PT+RSA/Westchester-Fairfield Chapter. He has been a member of the Arthur Page Society and International Roundtable. His most recent book with Co-authors Dr. Donald Grunewald and Dr. Giri Dua is titled "Public Relations: A Primer for Business Executives" Dr. Petrausch was the principle researcher and analyst for the recently published Pearson book by the Procter & Gamble Alumni Network "When Core Values Are Strategic: How the basic values of Procter & Gamble transformed leadership at Fortune 500 companies."
