The Iona College Physics Department is a diverse community of learners and scholars dedicated to academic excellence in the tradition of the Christian Brothers and American Catholic higher education. It is committed to education within the heritage of these legacies.
Iona College Physics graduates will be sought after because they will be:
The Physics Department supports the mission of Iona College by developing and teaching courses, by conducting research, and by participating in activities of the Iona and larger communities. The Department teaches courses for students majoring in physics and the other natural sciences, for students pursuing degrees in the arts and business areas, and for students in other programs such as education students in programs leading to certification in teaching elementary school science. Each full time faculty member is involved in a related research project. The Department serves the Iona and larger communities by participation in college activities and college committees and by representing Iona in the larger community.
CSI is the program established to provide information about career opportunities in the sciences and in science related fields to Iona students.
