Dr. Jacobson is a licensed clinical psychologist with research and clinical interests in the area of self-injurious behaviors. Her recent research and publications have focused on the epidemiology, phenomenology, classification, and treatment of self-injurious and suicidal behaviors among adolescents. Dr. Jacobson has also conducted research addressing depression and suicidality among people with advanced illness and has specific interest in the role of spirituality in protecting against end-of-life despair. Dr. Jacobson's teaching interests include clinical psychology, psychotherapy methods (with a focus on empirically supported treatments), research methods and statistics.
