The Criminal Justice Club and Dept under its Chair, Dr. Catherine Lavery, sponsored a Criminal Justice Career Mentoring Event on February 16th from 6:00-9:00pm in the Spellman-Burke Lounge. They had representatives from over 12 police units, Border Patrol, HIDTA, FBI, United States Probation, Victims Services, Westchester County Corrections, DEA, NYPD Crime lab, current judges, DA office representatives, the President of the NYS Police Juvenile Officers Association and the President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association. In addition they had 60 mentors and about 100+ students. |

On January 17, Cathryn Lavery, Chair of the Criminal Justice Department, arranged for Special Guest, Deputy Chief Mike Jaafar of Wayne County Sheriff's Office to come to campus and speak with students. Jaafar, who is also seen on TLC's American Muslim, was very well received by everyone who attended the talk. |
