Student Activities

Accounting Club: Accounting students meet during club activity hour to plan and participate in accounting-related and social activities. Information about career development and CPA Exam preparation is provided, often by invited guest speakers. Faculty Moderator - Prof. William Gulotta.

Accounting Honor Society: Senior accounting majors who achieve a minimum 3.5 index in accounting and a minimum cumulative index of 3.2 are eligible for membership. New members are recognized each year at the Spring Honors Convocation. Faculty Moderator - Dr. LeRoy Mitchell.

TaxPayer Assistance (TPA) Program: Senior accounting majors volunteer Saturday mornings during the income tax season to assist individuals, including other students, college employees and local residents, with preparation of basic tax returns. Faculty Coordinator - Dr. William Bottiglieri.

Winter Internship Program

The Accounting Department and the Career Development Center sponsor a full-time internship program for junior-year accounting majors. Qualified students may obtain compensated positions with public accounting firms and corporations; the internship period lasts from January to mid-March each year.
