Description
The program in accounting is designed to prepare students for careers in the public, private or government/nonprofit accounting sectors. Graduates of Iona's Hagan School of Business program who plan to apply for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant in New York must request review of their educational credentials by the state education department. Course Requirements
To major in accounting, the following eight courses are required.
A minimum average index of 2.0 is required in all major courses for graduation.

ACC 203 - Accounting Theory and Application 1
ACC 204 - Accounting Theory and Application 2
ACC 312 - Advanced Accounting Theory and Application
ACC 315 - Cost Measurement and Analysis
ACC 405 - Federal Income Taxation 1
ACC 410 - Federal Income Taxation 2
ACC 411 - Accounting for Government and Nonprofit Entities
ACC 415 - Theory and Practice for Independent Auditors

A professional internship program is available to students during spring of junior year.
Students planning to qualify for the CPA exam must complete additional courses in business law (BLW401) and finance (FIN322, FIN329 or FIN333) as business electives.

Laboratory Requirement
Students registered for BUS 101, ACC 203, 204, 312 and 315 must attend scheduled laboratory hours.
