CFM Candidate Scholarship Program

Scholarship Description

IMA and FMA have developed a student scholarship program that includes fee waivers for students providing evidence of exceptional academic achievement and the dedication necessary to complete the exams. There are a limited number of scholarships available. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. The Certified in Financial Management (CFM) Scholarship will pay for all enrollment fees for the CFM exam (a value of $370.)

Who Should Apply:

  • All students interested in pursuing a career in Finance and
  • who have obtained a senior standing in a bachelor’s degree program and/or MBA students enrolled during this time and
  • who are currently a member in good standing of the Financial Management Association International (FMA).

There is no IMA membership requirement until all four parts of the CFM exam have been completed.

Requirements for the CFM Scholarship - Each student applicant must:

  • Be a full time degree seeking student
  • Have attained senior standing
  • Agree to sit for the exam if selected
  • Meet any requirements established by your college or university
  • File an application for admission with the ICMA and register for the CFM examination
  • Do not submit the IMA membership application until you have passed the exam and are ready to be certified.

CFM Designation Requirements:

  • Pass all four parts of the CFM examination
  • Satisfy the experience requirement
  • Comply with the Standards of Ethical Conduct
  • Be a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). (This requirement is waived for current FMA members until after all four parts have been successfully completed.)
