HCM 651 Health Industry Analysis
Serves as an introduction to the analysis of health care in the US. Focus is on identifying and understanding factors that affect the health care industry as a whole, and its component parts. Special attention is given to the size and scope of the US system, where we obtain care, how we manage its resources, community organizations and cultural diversity issues.

HCM 653 Leadership and Management of Health Care Organizations
Provides an introduction to managing health organizations, focusing on strategies and methods for creating a productive work environment. It provides an overview of managerial roles and techniques, as well as leadership styles, with an emphasis on the current challenges of health services management.

HCM 654 The Continuum of Long-Term Care Services
This distance learning course explores the key ideas and content from gerontology as an opportunity for critical thinking. It also provides a broad overview of senior living communities as well as their administrative issues.

HCM 655 Management of Long-Term Care Services
This distance learning course provides an overview of long-term care services with a focus on institutional settings. Topics include characteristics of nursing home residents, resident assessment and resident care, regulations and the Long-Term Care Survey process, facility leadership and management issues, human resources, reimbursement and financial management, and others.

HCM 656 Ambulatory Care Management
Explores the organization, governance and management of ambulatory care organizations. These organizations find themselves in a constantly changing environment which is health care today, i.e., major moves towards integration and disintegration, managed care, reimbursement issues, e-health, and organizational and personal ethics.

HRM 638 Human Resources Management in Health Care Organizations
Reviews the principles and practices essential for the development and management of an effective human resources program in healthcare and other nonprofit agencies.

ACC 625 Accounting for Non-Business Organizations
An overview of concepts of financial planning, control and reporting, and comparison with business entities. Accounting procedures and financial reports for federal, state and local governments, healthcare, educational institutions and similar entities are covered.

BLW 618 Health Care Law
Designed to help students understand the legal environment in which health care services are provided and to develop skills in analyzing many of the current legal issues facing health care administrators.

FIN 671 Health Care Finance
Provides a detailed understanding of health services financial management. Emphasizes finance and cost accounting concepts essential for administrators in a variety of health care organizations.

IS 628 Total Quality Management
Examines the concept and meaning of Total Quality Management and to relate these quality management principles to present and future operations management philosophies.

MKT 638 Health Care Marketing and Planning
Concepts and theories pertaining to marketing management with the study of their application in the health care industry. Provides a comprehensive approach to translating the strategic plan of the health care organization into a functional marketing plan that can be implemented in an effective manner in order to increase market share of the target public.
