I am extremely excited to be a Maryknoll China teacher for the next year. Located in Jilin City in Northeastern China, I will study Mandarin Chinese at Beihua University and teach English to a group of nuns, as well as teaching English to orphans and elementary students. I will be learning about and experiencing the Chinese culture as well as sharing my culture with my students and those around me.
Participants in the Honors Program enjoy significant privileges including:
• two tuition-free courses per academic year
• priority registration
• small class sizes
• career mentoring
"My sophomore year Humanities sequence changed the way I viewed the world, philosophy and art, and
stands as two of the best classes I have ever taken."
- Matthew Baker, Valedictorian, Class of 2011
