Study Abroad Programs

The College sponsors ongoing study abroad programs. The spring semester program in Ireland, the fall and spring semester programs in Australia, the spring break program in Poland, and the summer programs in Italy, France, Greece, Oxford, London and Spain offer students courses that can be used to fulfill degree requirements both in general education and in various academic disciplines. There is also a junior year abroad program of study in England at Oxford University that is available to two juniors. Iona students can use these study abroad experiences not only to fulfill graduation requirements but to enhance their career preparation through the invaluable experience of living in another culture.

Iona also encourages students to take advantage of the many programs available in virtually every country around the globe. Working with the director of Study Abroad, students can plan individual programs of study for an academic year or a semester in such places as England, Europe, South America, China, and other sites abroad. Most study abroad courses are readily transferred to Iona.  New programs are constantly in development, such as proposed semester programs in Rome, Paris, and Barcelona, as well as summer programs in China, Morocco, and Jerusalem.
