Summer Session 2: End of May - End of June
Courses can be taken for core, elective, or major credit, and they are taught by Iona faculty members who travel to Rome with the students and by faculty based in Rome.
Students receive a total of 6 credits while studying and touring in the beautiful city of Rome. Classes are taught Monday through Thursday allowing students the opportunity to travel independently on the weekends.
Students reside in attractive facilities in Rome and participate in excursions to museums, monuments, churches, and other noteworthy sites including the Roman Forum, Pantheon, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, Circo Massimo, Colosseo, Villa Borghese (Borghese Gallery), Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica and Cupola, etc.
In order to participate in the Rome program students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 by the end of the fall semester. Students on disciplinary probation at the time of departure will not be permitted to participate in this program.
Did You Know?
In addition to visiting Italy, France, Spain, Australia and Ireland as a part of the Study Abroad program, students can participate in programs to other countries including: England, Japan, China, South America, Scandinavia, and Belgium.
