Brother Arthur A. Loftus Award for Outstanding Achievement

William P. Cella '73

Former chairman and CEO of MAGNA Global Worldwide, vice chairman of Draftfcb and one of the media industry’s most respected executives, Bill Cella brings years of experience in media negotiation, programming creation and branded content to The Cella Group.

The Cella Group is a media sales representation company offering sales in both traditional and digital media. Consultations in media, as well as sports and entertainment representation, are also significant services offered by the company.

Before forming The Cella Group in 2008, Bill spearheaded MAGNA Global, a unique media negotiation, research and programming unit of the Interpublic Group of Companies. Bill worked with Interpublic’s media specialists, including Initiative, Universal McCann, and other Interpublic media agencies around the world. MAGNA represents approximately $25 billion of aggregated media spending on behalf of clients from these agencies worldwide. Before his six years at MAGNA Global, Bill held executive positions at Universal McCann North America, McCann-Erickson, and ABC.

Bill’s board memberships include past and current participation on the boards of the Advertising Council, the National Kidney Foundation, NYC & Company, The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Crown Media Holdings, Inc. and the Association of National Advertisers’ Family Friendly Programming Forum. He has served as Luncheon Chair for the Boy Scouts of America, and is a frequent speaker on financial business panels.

Bill has the distinction of being recognized as a “Media Maven” by Advertising Age, in both 1999 and 2001, and was ranked seventh among The Most Powerful People in Television by the trade publication Electronic Media (now TelevisionWeek). An honoree of the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, Bill has appeared numerous times on CNBC and Bloomberg as an industry expert on trends in the media business and has guest-lectured at The University of Notre Dame’s Graduate School of Sports Management and the Hagan School of Business at Iona College.
